John Tepper Marlin

John Tepper Marlin is the President and Managing Member of Boissevain Books. He is the son of the internationally celebrated children's book author and artist, the late Hilda van Stockum, and as the Executor of her estate, formed Boissevain Books in 2010.

John is an accomplished economist as well as a prolific writer. He has served as the Chief Economist for the City of New York and as an economist for the Federal Reserve Board, FDIC, and Congressional Committee Staff. He frequently writes on economic issues for his widely read CityEconomist blog as well as other media outlets, including the Huffington Post, and has written or edited ten books published by HarperCollins, Wiley, the Free Press, Greenwood Press, and MasterMedia.

John is a graduate of Harvard College cum laude and Oxford University, and earned his Ph.D. in economics from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. He is currently writing a biography of William H. Woodin, the former Secretary of the Treasury under FDR, as well as a book on the activities during the Dutch Resistance of his relatives in Holland during World War II.
